Seminar Held

A seminar was held at the Ethiopian Biodiversity Institute, coordinated by Dr. Samson Shimeles, Lead Executive Officer of Training, Consulting, Project Monitoring, and Support, on Friday, August 8, 2025, at the Institute’s conference hall.

Dr. Samson delivered a welcome message and introduced the program. The seminar featured two presentations: "Fear and Beer: Linking Bird Behavior, Citizen Science, and Ecology of Hop Plantations" by Prof. Dr. hab. Piotr Tryjanowski from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Department of Zoology at Poznan University of Life Sciences, and "Symphony of the River Floodplain: Understanding the diversity of waterfowl in the seasonally flooded valley of the Biebrza National Park" by Prof. Dr. hab. Łukasz Jankowiak from the Institute of Biology at the University of Szczecin.

Throughout the presentations, researchers addressed various questions from the audience. At the end of the seminar, Dr. Tesfu Fekensa, the Lead Executive Officer of Animal Research at the Ethiopian Biodiversity Institute, thanked the presenters. He also proposed strengthening future collaborative activities between Ethiopia and Poland. The seminar then concluded.
