UNESCO MAB meeting in Hangzhou, China Designated Anywaa Biosphere Reserve of Ethiopia as the World Network of Biosphere Reserve

The site has been recognized by UNESCO for its Rich biodiversity, and Culture. The designation affirms the rich natural heritage of Ethiopia and the government's commitments towards sustainable development.

This designation is additional milestone for Ethiopia's Green Economy Strategy and Policies including the Green Legacy Initiative.

Ethiopian Biodiversity Institute congratulate all stakeholders who have contributed to the nomination process, and express deepest appreciation for the International Coordinating Council of the Man and the Biosphere Program decision to accept Ethiopia's nomination, the Anywaa Biosphere Reserve.
